According to coating types
Thin-layer coatings:
- Coatings with a thickness range of approximately 5-100 microns, based on PTFE, FEP, PFA, PEEK, MoS2, Graphite, Silicon, Zinc-lamella, EP, EP-PE, with options to enhance resistance using ceramic or metallic layers.
- Coating functionalities: lubricity, dry lubrication, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, non-stick properties, temperature resistance, UV resistance, etc.
Thick-layer coatings:
- Coatings with a thickness range of approximately 100-1500 microns, based on ETFE, ECTFE, PFA, PVDF, PA11, PE, PU, EP, EP-PE, coating systems.
- Coating functionalities: corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, chipping resistance, temperature resistance, UV resistance, etc.
According to the application process
Manual application – air/ RP/ HVLP, semi-automatic application with horizontal or vertical linear movement, application by Fanuc – robotic spraying, application by Gema – powder coating line, Dip-Spin application, Rotomat – drum spraying, application in a fluidized bed, hot-flocking application, electrostatic application.
We apply a large part of the functional coatings at ADELHELM manually. There are several reasons for manual coating:
-
Coatings for anti-adhesion, corrosion and chemical protection can only be applied manually. The reason: The temperature of the part is too high for an automated coating
-
In the case of thermal processing, manual work is required in order to cross-link or melt the coating material and bond it to the substrate.
-
Wet coat and powder are sprayed manually, also electrostatically
-
The size and quantity of some orders do not allow automation
-
The complex geometry of some components requires our staff to manipulate the part in ways not possible in an automated system.
Advantages of a manual coating
Flexibility: Components of any shape and size can be coated manually. The only limitation is – in the case of oven-curing systems – the capacity of our furnaces, which is generously dimensioned at 6.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 m and 4 x 3 x 3 m or in the US 7’ X 7’X 7’.
Another advantage is the targeting the areas of your components to be coated. The part may be completely encapsulated in coating or we can target specific areas of the part to be coated as per your requirements. Efficient processes and excellent logistics make manual coating at ADELHELM extremely economical for you
