TECHNICOAT: A Legacy of Innovation in Surface Coatings

-1989: The State Research Institute for Materials Protection, led by Ing. Peterka, founded a hub for PTFE surface treatments at Tiba Slovany 22, catering to the Czechoslovakian textile industry by applying Teflon® coatings to textile rollers.

Privatization led by Karel Bičiště transformed Tiba Slovany 22 into PVP Slovany, an engineering firm producing textile machinery, power plant ancillary equipment, and surface treatments, with the latter contributing to 10% of sales.

-1995: Following Karel Bičiště’s passing, his children inherited PVP Slovany. Karolína Bičišťová, alongside her future spouse Martin Kortus, restructured the company. Martin Kortus later became director, acquiring 20% of shares and expanding the surface treatment division, partnering with DuPoint and Whitford.

PVP Slovany ventured into the oil & gas sector, initiating a new era in surface treatment development and adopting manganese phosphating technology.

Martin Kortus founded Technicoat Ltd., a dedicated entity, specializing in fluoroplastic-based functional surface treatments, and acquired the surface treatment segment from PVP Slovany.

-2001: Technicoat s.r.o. welcomed foreign investment from IBG Monforts GmbH, enhancing surface treatment technologies.

Technicoat became DuPont Industrial Applicator (LIA) licensee.

-2010: The company flourished in the oil&gas industry, securing key certifications and clientele.

-2007: Expansion into Poland and Romania marked the opening of new branches.

IBG Monforts exited as a shareholder, making way for Adelhelm, a top functional coatings supplier in Europe.

-2012: Technicoat built a new production site in Planá, in a vicinity of České Budějovice.

A robotic line for automated non-stick surface applications in industrial bakeries was introduced.

The company diversified into bulk plastic part coatings and established a central management structure.

TECHNICOAT Bakeware s.r.o. was formed, focusing on marketing of industrial bakeware technologies.

Technicoat India commenced operations in Pune.

A new Polish facility in Czechowice-Dziedzice was established, featuring a high-capacity line for non-stick coating of industrial bakeware.

Investment in a fully automated coating line for food market and digitalization of production at Technicoat Czech Republic.

-2023: Transition to professional management in Plana and financial oversight by the family successor.
